Legal Cases

Our mission is to provide the reader with a true,
unabridged rendering of the Mormon polygamist
lifestyle, past and present.

Fundamentalists separate God's laws from the law of the land. When there is a conflict, God's laws are considered paramount. God reveals his laws to mankind through his personal mouthpiece, the prophet. When it comes to the interpretation of God's laws, the prophet is the ultimate arbitrator.
It is said that God created man in his own image. In the case of the polygamist prophets, they created a god in their own image -- a god that condescends and grants every whim of the prophet. If it meets the purpose of the prophet, crime is turned into virtue. Mormon history is
awash with bold examples of murder and dishonesty, all for the sake of the "kingdom," the gospel, the priesthood and prophet.
The following statement can be found on page 224 of Mormonism Unveiled, Confessions of John D. Lee. Brother Lee is talking to the apostle-general, George A. Smith a few days before the Mountain Meadow Massacre.
Apostle Smith wanted to know how the Saints in Southern Utah would react towards gentile emigrants traveling through the Utah Territory without a "pass" from Brigham Young. John D. Lee: "I went into a full statement of the wrongs of our people, and told him that the people were under the blaze of the reformation, full of wild fire and fanaticism, and that to shed the blood of those who would dare to speak against the Mormon Church or its leaders, they would consider doing the will of God, and that the people would do it as willingly and cheerfully as they would any other duty."
It is generally thought among polygamist sympathizers that Utah's Mormon fundamentalists are law abiding, benign creatures who mind their own business and are as honest as they are religious. Some are, some are not.
Foolish, vain, fundamentalist converts with swelled heads dizzy with erotic fantasies of golden kingdoms satiated with love-starved plural wives are induced by corrupt prophets into consecrating millions of dollars into priesthood coffers. In almost all cases these converts are
the victims of impossible illusions and false promises. Few seek redress out of embarrassment, or due to skilled chicanery the consecrations are deemed by authorities as unrecoverable donations.
In most cases fundamentalists prey upon each other. But on occasion, greed induces them to extend their machinations outside the fundamentalist subculture as did Apostolic United Brethren. This section is included in the polygamy books website to give interested readers a glimpse of the righteous corruption that goes on inside the polygamist cults.
